Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp honey
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional: ½ tsp cinnamon
- Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Soften the Butter
Leave butter at room temperature for 15–20 minutes until it's soft enough to yield to light pressure, but not melted.
-
Whip the Butter
Using an electric mixer or hand whisk, beat the softened butter for 2–3 minutes until it becomes pale and fluffy, increasing in volume.
-
Add Honey and Salt
Gradually add honey and sea salt while continuing to beat. If using cinnamon or vanilla, add now. Mix until fully incorporated and the texture is light and creamy.
-
Chill
Transfer to a serving dish or container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the texture to set.
TrueComb Tip: Use room-temperature butter for the fluffiest texture. Cold butter won't whip properly and melted butter won't hold shape. If your butter gets too warm, pop it in the fridge for 5 minutes.
Tips for Success
- Don't skip the whipping step—this is what creates the luxurious, airy texture that makes this special.
- For a sweeter spread, add an extra tablespoon of honey, or adjust to your preference.
- Try adding zest (lemon, orange, or lime) for a citrus version.
- Make several days ahead and store covered in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Can be molded in a small ramekin or piped into decorative shapes for entertaining.
