By accessing and using the Melvea website (melvea.com) and all associated pages, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Melvea is a honey discovery, rating, and curation platform dedicated to honey education, editorial scoring, and product recommendations. Melvea connects consumers with honey products through three channels:
You may use Melvea for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This includes reading articles, submitting honey tastings through our Flavor Insight Protocol, learning about honey varieties, accessing buying guides and recipes, and browsing product recommendations.
Melvea participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs. When you click a product link and make a purchase on a retailer's site, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Melvea also maintains Brand Partner Agreements with select honey brands. When you purchase from a Brand Partner through a Melvea-attributed referral or platform integration, Melvea may receive a commission on that sale. This does not affect the price you pay.
All editorial scoring, ratings, and product recommendations are made independently based on Melvea's scoring methodology and are not influenced by affiliate or commission arrangements.
Melvea's Flavor Insight Protocol allows users to submit structured tasting ratings for honey products. Tasting sessions may be submitted anonymously using a device fingerprint stored in your browser, or by registered users linked to an account.
By submitting a tasting session, you grant Melvea a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, display, aggregate, and publish your tasting data as part of Melvea's product flavor profiles and platform scoring.
If you create a tasting account, you provide your email address. Anonymous sessions may be linked to your account at your request after registration.
You represent that tasting submissions represent your genuine, independent assessment of the product. Submitting false, manipulated, or commercially motivated ratings is prohibited.
Beekeepers and brand partners may claim their farm profile or create a brand account on Melvea through the verified claim process. Verified accounts receive access to the Melvea beekeeper dashboard, analytics, and commerce integration tools.
Beekeeper and brand partner use of the platform is governed by the separate Brand Partner Agreement, which must be executed prior to enabling commerce features. In the event of conflict between these Terms and a Brand Partner Agreement, the Brand Partner Agreement controls with respect to commercial matters.
All content on Melvea, including articles, reviews, photos, illustrations, honey variety descriptions, buying guides, recipes, scoring methodology, flavor wheel data, and editorial commentary, is the exclusive property of Melvea and is protected by copyright law.
You may view and print individual pages for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, transmit, modify, or create derivative works of any Melvea content without our explicit written permission. This includes:

By submitting content such as photos, reviews, tasting notes, or other materials, you grant Melvea a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and sublicensable license to display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content on Melvea and related channels. You retain ownership of your content and may request its removal at any time by contacting hello@melvea.com.
You represent that any content you submit is your original work or that you have the necessary rights to share it, and that it does not infringe on any third party's rights. Full terms governing user-submitted content are detailed in our Community Guidelines.

Your interactions with these sites, including purchases and data sharing, are governed by their own terms and policies.
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Melvea shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at hello@melvea.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Affiliate Disclosure, and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Melvea regarding your use of the website and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date below and, where practicable, provide notice through the website. Your continued use of Melvea after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
